Air Conditioning problem
1998 Buick Park Avenue 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

This car has sat up for a year. Everything was working well when I parked it. Now the A/C compressor will not engage. I have checked all fuses to no avail. Next suggestion please.

Hello, I can talk to you about the basics. If the system is low on refrigerant, the compressor clutch may not engage. You can also check for voltage at the ac clutch relay, just unplug the relay, turn on the key, check for voltage at a couple of terminals. I know you checked fuses, did you check voltage feed to the fuse?

Just gassed her up with about a pound and a half with stop leak and some oil. Compressor chatters a bit, but not as loud as my 1987 F150 that been chattering for 10 years. She seems cool enough at this time. Hope it holds.

Thanks for the help
