When the AC is on the passenger side vents blow MUCH colder than the driver side vents. Does not matter whether it is on recirculate or not. Also does not matter where the little slide control for the passenger side climate control is set. Can I repair this myself or bypass it somehow? I'm a decent shade tree repairman.

You might want to get the PCM scanned, it should tell you what part failed, could be the amient temp sensor on passenger side, or the temp door on the plenum is not moving...
