1996 Buick Park Avenue

I have a 96 buick park ave and it got hit in the right front bumper and quarter panel. the insurance company due to the amount of damage is wanting to total the car. the engine and frame and the rest of the car are in great condition. if they total it is it possible to re vin the vehicle so i can still keep it and register it to have it as a extra car. i live in alabama..if you don't know any suggestions as to where i can find out this info. thanks so much

You will have to check with your dmv but here in california you can get what is called a salvage title when a car is totaled.
