First off this is about an Ultra with the supercharger (if it makes a difference) Me and my father replaced a leaking water pump, only to put the car back together, start it, check the temp gauge, it's fine problem fixed except now the oil pressure reads dead 0 no movement no matter what you do, engine makes no ticks, knocks, pings, etc. Oil gauge read low before we replaced the water pump, but we figured the oil was getting thinned out by being too hot. Car seems to run like no problems, but gauge reads 0. Have not hooked up a trusted external gauge yet, as we live a bit away from civilization and I don't own one. I have read that the gas gauge will get "stuck" below E when connecting and disconnecting the battery (as we did for the w.P.) Is this also known to happen with the oil pressure gauge?

We will need to know the actual oil pressure as read on a mechanical gauger, can you get hold of one to do the test?

Unfortunately I am not sure where or how I could get my hands on one, I have an Autozone where I bought the water pump, but it is a good distance away, and right now only the Buick is running and I am afraid to drive it that far if it has no oil pressure, is there any way I can check it without a gauge, or something I can rig up to check it with?

There is nothing that you can use, this is a problem, I don't want you risking the chance of doing some serious damage to the engine if the pressure is a problem, it sounds as if you live on a farm in a remote location, can someone give you a lift?

Well as it turns out my dad does have external pressure gauge, so now I'm trying to guilt him into running it out to me (He's farther away than the autozone).
