1994 Buick Park Avenue Oil leaking from front left strut

My car started leaking oil pretty badly from what appears to be the front left strut. (a metal rod that connects to a black acordian looking thing). Why would it be doing this and how do i fix it?

THe strut has gone bad and will need replaced.
