I drive a 1993 Buick Park Avenue (not the Ultra) with 110,000 miles on it. I installed a new stereo and thought I saw a wire arc while installing it. After that I noticed my climate control had died. The unit seems to have no power going to it as the display is not lit and pushing buttons makes no sounds. The button's illuminate when my headlights are on. But nothing else. The passenger side dual control does not work either. I replaced the climate control unit and it still does not work. The fuses are all good. What is wrong with this thing! Is there a way to create a "jumper" to turn the heat on so I am at least warm until I fix this problem?

The best place to start is to re-trace the steps involed when the problem started. Was the stereo a factory radio of the same type, or did you have to cut into some wiring? I would start by undoing what you have done and see what happens. Did you try removing the radio and see if it works?

There is an a/c controller mounted to your heater case, you may have damaged it, :(
where did the arc come from and what caused it? You don't want the same thing to happen again to a new part.

AH HA! One of the wires going to the fuse for my climate control was disconnected! Reconnected it and bingo- fully operational! Thanks for your help!
