My wife's Park Avenue heater fan would not shutoff. I pulled the fuse under the hood as it ran the bat. Flat. After recharging the batt. & And replacing fuse the motor will not run at all. Is the fan motor bad? Also when using the trunk today the auto close will not work & I can't close the trunk.

Assume the truck will close but won't close the last 35 mm. I have seen two of these. The motor is usually O.K. But the switch has gone bad.

There is a switch to right of the protuding "D" male latch post. I have removed that switch (one screw torx T-15 or T-10) at the top-rear, lift straight up, exposing the two terminlas heading into the motor housing. To spin the motor which will bring the latch down far enough to close the truck watertight, place jumpers on the terminals. To lower, hook a positive to the rear-most termial and a ground to the forward terminal. Carefully ground the motor to lower the latch post. Notice the grease on the shaft coming out of the polycarb housing that will tell the limits of travel. Went to far? Reverse polarity on the motor.

I successfully closed 2 trunks by doing this.
