I replaced the original air shocks with after market air shocks and the car rides very stiff. I put 400 lgs of weight in the trunk and the compressor didn't seem to raise it at all. The compressor worked fine with the old shocks. Can I disconect the air and use them as regular shocks

They will not function as regular type shocks. Check your air lines for leaks by spraying them with soapy water when the compressor is running. You should also spray the air bladders on the shocks to check for leaks.
