The temp gauge on my 2004 Lesabre is going all the way into the red but the coolant level is great. I know this model has problems with coolant leaks but that doesn't appear to be the problem here. Is it probably the thermostat. How much do those typically cost to replace?

Do the coolings fan/s run? The low speed fan on at 223F, high speed around 10F hotter. One usually comes on when you turn on the ac.

As far as the thermostat, if do the work yourself, only part cost, not much.
