I have three-year-old 2004 Buick Lesabre that is having curious electrical problems. In particular, several interior backlights have failed, seemingly en masse.
Six backlights for buttons on the AC control panel have failed; one or two radio backlights lights are out; four backlights behind the Cruise, Radio Scan, and Resume/Accel buttons on the steering wheel have failed (and the Resume/Accel button has failed completely, rendering my cruise control inoperative); the passenger-side climate control "slider" switch still controls temperature, but no longer illuminates the blue/red lights to indicate the passenger's temperature selection).
I can't believe that so many of these lights would fail on a car so relatively young. Should I just consider myself unlucky, or perhaps be searching for a more organic cause? Ironically, my mom owns a 2005 Lesabre and buttons/backlights on her steering wheel have started to fail as well.
Seems like an awfully silly problem to have on what used to be one of Buick's premiere models.
Thanks for any suggestions you could offer.
