2004 Buick Lesabre Intake manifold

I have been told that my intake manifold gasket is leaking. I do not hear anything amiss or see any evidence on the garage floor. My driving is almost all short trips of approx twenty miles. How can I be sure this work needs to be done?

check engine light should be on with P0171 and P0174 codes stored
