Interior problem

While the car was under warrenty I had to have many of the control switches replaced because the light would go out. Now it is out of warrenty and I am still having the same problem. Currently 5 of the switch lights are out in the area of the AC, etc. The dealership wants over $400.00 to replace the swithces because they say that is the only way to replace the light componet. That is a lot of money to just get the lighs burning. Otherwise the switches work. Any suggestions?
