2004 Buick Lesabre Battery will not boost off.

Battery went dead so I charged the battery. Charged up but car did not start.
So I tried the boost setting on my battery charger. The engine turned once then the positive cable connection sparked and now the battery will not accept charge.
I want to know if I may have burned out more than j fuse.

If your bat won't hold a charge, then you need a new bat.
