Fairly frequently the shift on the transmission is shifting with a thud or very roughly. I have read that it could be the pressure regulator selenoid. Is this most likely the problem and where is this located. I had the fluid and filter changed last month. I have checked for codes but it shows none

If you have the codes checked with a Tech2 scan tool, you will probably find a dtc P1811. This could be caused from a bad pressure regulator solenoid, sticking regulator valve, bad pressure switch, or overall wear of internal transmission components.

The pressure solenoid is located on the valve body under the side transmission cover.
