Cruise control does not release even after truning it off or mashing the breaks. If you pat the gas to slow it down it increases speed. The only way to stop it is to trun it off or mash the break which will only slow it down but will not release the accelerator. After it sits a while sometimes it will crank and run slow for a while but them it continues to increase in speed and again the only way to slow it down is to press the break or cut off the motor.

I have taken it to a mechanic and he has replace the cruse control twice now. Again last week it did it again.

Please Help!! Is there a recall in this vehicle:?

What parts has he replaced? Also, if it isn't shutting off, it doesn't sound like a bad component, but rather a wiring problem. Has your mechanic checked the wiring?

Let me know. And also, this job would be better suited for an auto electric tech.
