2001 Buick Lesabre WHat's inside the air filter box

i was removing the air filter box to install a cold air intake and i ran in to this metal rectangle like box that was inside the box of the air filter.In the top says DELCO ELECTRONICS it has wires going in to it and i think they go out too so my question is what is that DELCO ELECTRONICS? could that be the computer of the car or what could it be!!!

That is the PCM (powertrain Control Module) basically the brain for the motor and trans.
