2001 Buick Lesabre battery connector

Replacing the battery, under the rear seat, the positive terminal screw on the cable connector, has been eaten away from battery acid. I cannot remove the screw to replace it. Is there a way to remove the screw, without having to replace the battery cable?

If it is that bad, It would be best to replace the cable.
