Hi there,

You car has hydraulic lash adjusters, which rely on a constant oil supply to operate, with the damaged sump, if oil pressure was down, the lash adjusters are the first thing to suffer as they are at the end of the oiling system, you may just have picked up a bit of carbon in a valve in the adjuster, so I would first do a oil flush with a good quality engine flush agent, this may dissolve any carbon and clear the adjuster.
