where is the mass air flow sensor located?

It is the little black flat box, that is connected to the air cleaner, and probably resembles this. But it's right on the metal housing connected to the side of the engine, to the left of the rubber flexible hose that connects to the air filter box. Sometimes they can be cleaned with a little carb cleaner, usually not.

Tap the screws that hold it down to loosen them, to prevent stripping the heads off.
