1998 Buick Lesabre power steering

when i start my car in the morning, my steering wheel turns just fine, after about 5 minutes, the steering wheel tightens up, eventually becoming too hard to turn... what could this be?

Depends on what system it has. IF this is electronic steering, there are some basic checks that need to be done including checking for trouble codes. May be a variety of possiblilities including a reprogramming.

IF it is hydrolic power steering, then the pressure of the sytem needs to be checked in one of more places for a possible restricition.
