If I cut out the silencer in my airbox under the hood how will affect my maf sensor? Will my check engine light come on?

I never tried to do that, but several companies make those cold air kits, K&N, Moroso, etc. And they work with no lights coming on. Also, the Maf sensor senses air flow to adjust fuel mixture, so that should be OK. If not, there aftermarket sensors available. Mickey-d
