How do you remove the the top nut from the rear strut, on a 97 LeSabre? I removed the rear seat, but I can't get any tools through the hole. Do I need to remove the top mounting plate?

For 1987-94 vehicles, remove the trunk side cover for access to the strut upper mounting nuts. You may have to remove the rear seat to access the front nut. For 1995-99 vehicles, remove the rear seat cushion and seat back to get to the strut upper nuts. Remove any necessary cover(s) from the strut upper retainers.

Remove the strut tower mounting nuts through the trunk or the body slot behind the rear seat back. Separate the strut from the knuckle. If equipped with Computer Control Ride (CCR), lower the strut, then detach the electrical connector. Remove the strut assembly from the vehicle. Let me know if this helps. Joe
