1997 Buick Lesabre oil pressure

1997 Buick Lesabre 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

while driving my car my gauge for the oil went to nothing. i turned my car off and got to the shoulder of the road. my oil is full. i have replaced the oil pressure switch - no help. gauge still not moving now car when started sounds very rough. any suggestions?

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge-could be an oil pump issue with pressure relief valve/engine bearings

soudns like tis not a faulty with the sensor or sending unit.

sounds like something is bad with the pressure and since it is runnign rough i WOULD STOP RUNNING IT ASAP UNTILL YOU TAKE A LOOK AT THE OIL PUMP.

normally if the guage is bad it wont mkae loud noise such as you are observing.
