1996 Buick Lesabre Wiper Controls

Because the wipers on my daughter's LeSabre only operated on one speed, I replaced the wiper motor.
NOW the wiper only operates on that speed, but does about a 2" stroke.
I don't know how to align the control cover with the new motor. I don't know how the 2/3 circle rotor is aligned, or if my problem is that module the problem to begin with.
