1996 Buick Lesabre slow power response

When taking off, accelerating in drive there is slow response, but 1'st gear and 2'nd on initial take off is fine

Do you have a check engine light or has flashed? If so get it scanned for OBD2 code/s at Autozone free service and comeback with it, this is where we start the diagnosis.

Last major tune-up?

For a start lets get the throttle position and MAP sensor checked out-then follow it with a fuel pressure check to rule out a no good fuel filter/pressure regulator and fuel pump.
