I recently replaced all tyrods and put new tires, and front end alignmet. after about a month I now here a popping sound when I turn the wheel. I also noticed "tight spots" in the steering wheel, I put a small amount of powersteering fluid to the fill line. this only helped very breifly. what could be the problem?

sound like the rack and pinion assembly is going out. You should take the vehicle to a reputable shop to verify and diagnose the problem, as this is a safety concern.
