When I try to start the car, the dash lights, light, but the engine fails to turn over. I release the key and the security dash light stays light. 5 or 10 min. later the light goes out. I retry to start the car, sometimes it starts most of the time the security problems starts again. I have tried both sets of keys, does not make any difference

usually what happens is the wire breaks inside the steering column that detects the resistance of the key to enable the vehicle to start. every time you try and it does not start there is a 4 minute time out the vehicle has before it can recognize the correct resistance. if you are a little mechanically inclined there is a relatively easy way to bypass.
