1992 Buick Lesabre 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

my engine starts but only briefly, as soon as i give it gas it dies.then it takes a long try to start again

Clean out the idle air control valve and test the throttle position and manifold absolute pressure sensors to include a fuel pressure check.
