My buick has an outrageous brake fluid leak. The problem is that the leak is coming from the casing around the brake booster. I have been told that doesn't hold fluid at all. Is it possible the fluid from the master cylinder is backing up into the booster and leaking from there?

The booster doesn't hold any fluid. But there is a seal in the M/C close to where it attaches to the B/B. More than likely the seal is damaged and is leaking. For cost effectiveness, I would suggest replacing the entire master cylinder, rather than trying to fix the seal.
