ok i have a problem with my car i have a 1984 buick lasabre and every time i try to put in gear it just goes up and down its not catching its as if a pin is missing if you can help i would really apperciate it thanx

If you mean the shifter, chech on the drivers side of the transmission, see if the cable snapped, or the locknut came off.
