The water pumps needs to be replaced on this buick, how do I check to see if there was damage done to the car, since I was not there when the waterpump blew, someone else was driving the car at the time.if the headgasket is damaged, will there be signs to look for, and what is an average cost to replace the water pump if that is all it is? if the headgasket is blown, what would something like that cost on average. thanks

If the engine was shut down before it was allowed to overheat too bad, everything should be fine. As far as the waterpump, expect to pay around 300.00 for it. That can be different based on where you live.

There is noting to look for with a head gasket other than evidence of a coolant or oil leak. You could check engine compression to see if any of the cylenders are low.

Let me know if you have other questions, let me know.
