is check engine light on ?
if so have it scanned for codes
as a 1st step
check for tune up

to honest i would check for codes. most likely o2 sensor #1 pre converter. Possible pluged injectors. Does it have a secondary air injection system. there is a valve on the right side of the engine below the cylinder head that i have seen cause this to.
