1975 Buick Electra car wont start

I have a 1975 buick and it has been giving me trouble with not wanting to start so I tap the gear shifter and try it again and then it will start but now it wont even do that when I try is my neutral safety switch going bad or do I have some sort of other problem with my car.

It could be a neutral safety switch. Does it start when you place it in neutral?
