When the engine is ideling, I hear a noise similar to a slapping noise. When the RPM increases, the noice is gone. The performance of the engine is great. It almost sound as if perhaps the timing chain may be slapping or rubbing?

Take a piece of chalk or crayon and go to the harmonic balancer and draw a line from the center bolt, all the way to the outside edge. Start the car for a second and re-examine the line and see if the line is broken to indicate a broken harmonic balancer.

I checked the harmonic balancer with a chalk line and did not notice any movement. Any other possibilities?

There are plenty of other possibilities but you're going to have to determine where the noise is originating from.
