Engine Mechanical problem

Good Morning All.

I recently did a intake/head gasket replacement on my gf's 3.1L buick. On the rebuild, everything seemed to come together fine. Once together, It started and ran until we noticed that gas was being leaked and sprayed from what looked like the fitting between the rear fuel rail and the engine fuel pipe (A on the schematic, not to be confused with the fuel pressure regulator fitting on the front rail) We also cranked the engine with the upper intake manifold removed and the rail exposed to be sure that the leak was in this area.

Our first guess was that we needed a o-ring seal for the fitting, although i'm sure there was no o-ring installed when we first pulled it (as the Haynes rapair manual says "install o-ring seal if applicable") After visiting the dealership parts dept I was informed that there is no O-Ring seal listed for that fitting on their 01 centruy custom schematics.

This now leads us to believe that the back right injector (B on schematic) is loose or leaking/spraying right under the fuel pipe fitting, giving the illusion that it's coming from the actual fitting. This could be because we had a really hard time getting the clips (C on schematic) to grab the fuel rail and slide up to hold the injector. Or, that we just didn't seal it good enough.

Hopefully we'll get it today when we pull the fuel rail again and resecure all of the injectors seals, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue or any suggestions.

If not then I will try asking a certified member if needed in a few days.

Thank you for your consideration,

Jon
