Gas gauge is not working why?

On my 2000 century the gas gauge appears to only to be accurate when the car is not moving. Other than when the tank is full when I start to drive the gauge will rise a quarter or more and stay there until I bring the car to a stop at which point it will slowly fall back to which I believe is the correct reading. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Unfortunately it sounds like the sending unit in the gas tank. The bad thing about that is it also has the fuel pump with it so it isn't cheap at all. If you have a digital ohm meter and wan't to pull it out we can test it but it is not easy as you have to pull the fuel tank to do that there is no trap door

Here is a guide to help you see what you are in for

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken
