I'm working on a Buick Century 2000 that lost its air conditioning and overdrive at the same time. Is this just luck or are the 2 connected? Everything else seems to work fine - no alarms. The clutch on the AC goes in and out when it is turned off and on. The air is just outside temperature. The car shifts normally up and down but will not shift into overdrive. I thought I read somewhere that engine temperature may affect these areas. Can you help?

The air conditioning should be checked for proper operating pressure. It could just be low on refridgerant.

The overdrive problem could be related to the overdrive button or switch not engaging the over drive. Check your transmission fluid for level and color and make sure it doesnt have a burnt smell to it. If that all seems ok, have a diagnostic scan done and look for any codes.
