Electrical problem
1998 Buick Century V6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My cars lights that show the odometer and what gear the car is in doesn't come on. Once in a while, however, these lights do come on momentarily so I don't think the problem is the bulb(s). I have read that it may be something in the computer. Any thoughts as to what could cause or fix this problem?

You Will need to have a dealer or a shop that has a scantool that can run tests on the instrument cluster read any set codes, I have read if the tranny selector light is out, and the scanner can try to turn it on, if it can't the cluster is no good, but unfotunatly there is no way without the right scanner to tell!

The cluster has gone bad, I would get a rebuilt or used unit, here is how to replace it. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
