1995 Buick Century 1st,2nd and reverse gear work but 3rd an

Transmission problem
1995 Buick Century 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 89000 miles

Suddenly 3rd and Drive gear stopped working.
But Ist,2nd and reverse gears are still working.
I can shifl into "Drive"gear and accelerate but only engine rev up but car is not moving.
What do you think trouble is???????

the clutch pack for 3rd gear is worn out or some sort of blockage keeping the pressure drum from compressing the pack.

or a problem in the valve body
