Interior problem
1992 Buick Century 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I removed the pin that holds the shift lever into the column shift and replaced it with a new one (like kind) Now when I shift into reverse or drive the transmission makes a grumbling sound like the gears are not meshing. This sound was not there prior to removing the lever. I even put the old one back in and it still makes the sound. Could something have come disconnected or need to be adjusted? Dan

If you move the shifter, can you get the sound to stop?
