i was just told that my air conditioning compressor needs to be replaced. 1)is it worth replacing? and 2)is the car drivable without replacing it? thanks

Hi:
As long as the pulley didn't lock up, just unplug the compressor and it's safe to drive. However, keep in mind that the AC works when you defrost the windshield. It may take longer to defrost.

As far as the other question. The car has a lot of miles, but without being there to see it, knowing what has been done to over the years... it's hard for me to tell you if it's worth the repair.
