The interior (inside the car) hood release mechanism is broken. How can I get the hood unlatched?

I'd Try using a flat head screw driver. You may want to take it over to the Buick dealer Body shop. They may be able to open it and not charge you for it. I had the same prbolem with a 96 Grand Am and they adjusted the cable some how and it worked fine.
