Engine Performance problem
1988 Buick Century 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 150k miles

I would lik to know where the fuel regulator is?I have been driving this car for some time with this problem!i hooked a switch to temorairly open up one side of temp sensor to get it started when it's been run.It seems to be fuel starved.i changed around temp sensor and got it to shift into overdrive again,It ran great untill i came to a hill and it wanted to down shift, it sputtered and seemed fuel starved. if iput in a different temp. sensor it stays out of overdrive and goes up the hill just fine.70 mphI allways had less trouble in cold weather? This is my late mothers car and would like to drive it a little longer.I put in a pisston and new rings about 55K miles ago and when it runs it has alot of power for a 2.5 I will wait to hear from you, thanks

The fuel pressure regulator is in the throttle-body assembly. How long since a tune-up? Use a gage and check fuel pressure. Are there any applicable trouble codes.
