Broken side view mirror

I caught my wing mirror reversing out of garage, now it will fold in and out on locking car. But won't go to driving position, but opens too wide. How do I fix this?

It sounds like the internal plastic gears or motor that works the mirror got damaged, I would get a new mirror (search Amazon or you may need to get it from the dealer) and install it, here are the instructions on how to replace the mirror and remove the door panel in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
