Broken oil filter, how to remove it?

So, changing the oil and the plastic piece in the middle of the filter broke off at the tip, how do I get it out?

Hi,
That portion is part of the oil bypass valve. They had problems with them and redesigned them I believe in 2014.
They make a repair kit for it. Take a look at the pic below and let me know if that is the part that came apart.
