I have found that the reason my vents won't change is a broken lever that the actuator is moving. I however can't seem to find any info on this part that appears to come off. Can you direct me on where to find this part? Seems silly to replace the entire system because of on part that can be changed.

Hi,

The mode door actuator shouldn't have a lever. It should key into the mode door at the side of the HVAC box.

I attached a pic below. Do you see the part you are referring to?

Let me know.

It is behind the plate that the actuator attaches to. Between that plate and the actual HVAC box. Included a picture of broken part.

Hi,

I looked at the pic. Am I correct in saying the broken section is where the actuator connects? Also, do you have the HVAC box taken apart?

The actuator connects through the black plate into a white wheel that moves this lever and some other ones. Actually, this picture is from the only reference I could find. It is on the F150 forum, so no I have not taken mine apart yet. I was hoping to have the replacement before I get into it.

Hi,

I went through two manuals, google, and anything I can think of, and can't find info on that connector. You mentioned seeing a forum that mentioned it. Can you provide the link? I want to see if that is part of another component.

Let me know.

Sure thing, this is it.

I have continued to look and found this YouTube video as well:

Hope this helps. The video says he found a compatible part from an older modal in the wrecking yard. I would prefer to get new parts if possible, though.
The lack of info on this is disturbing. lol
