Brake lights stay on

The engine began to shake and then shut off the car. We took it to AutoZone to find out what was wrong. they did a "check engine" light check and it said I needed to change my brake booster. I bought a brake booster and replaced it. Once I put it in the brake pedal wont touch the brake light sensor. Is there a way for me to move the sensor down a bit? Or is there a possibility that I got the wrong brake booster?

What was the number of the unit you replaced so I can see if it was correct?

Hi Jessvald,

Do you have the part number that they gave you?

I attached the portion of the repair that would affect this and that is the pedal pushrod that connects to the brake pedal. I would assume this rod is not the correct length. Does the brake pedal seem like it is in the same position? Can you push or pull the pedal so that it makes contact?

Have you compared the old part to the new one they gave you? You may have to take it back out to do this but clearly something is different.

Lastly, if you can, please submit a video of what the pedal and brake switch look it. Maybe I will see something that is out of place.

To answer your question, no You cannot move the switch. It needs to remain in its mounting location.
