Braking problem, the car brakes while driving?

Hi,

This is an odd one. The idea of actuating the parking brake a few times for it to release doesn't make sense to me because the actuators are on the rear only.

Before having a new ABS module installed, was the same thing happening? Also, I need you to check something. I'm not sure how far you drive before this happens, but if it is a mile, for example, drive it about 3/4 mile and stop and check if there is excessive heat coming from the affected wheels.

Also, you may want to have the can-bus scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. CAN stands for controller area network.

Basically, the modules are tied together via a few wires and communicate with each other. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of which module is storing them.

Hi,

If you are getting excessive heat from the front right, do this:

Lift that wheel off the ground so you can turn it. Have a helper apply the brakes so it locks up. Have them release the brake pedal and see if you are able to turn the wheel. If you can't, open the bleeder on the brake caliper to see if the wheel can be turned. If it is, replace the rubber brake hose to the caliper. If there is no change, chances are it is a caliper issue.

I attached a pic below showing the bleeder location. Also, when you do this, just open it for a couple of seconds and then retighten it.
