When driving the rear wheel area squeals?

Hello,

So, when driving the rear wheel area squeals. If I had to guess, it’s the indicator tab for my brakes. Around the 7 second mark I apply the brakes and the squeal does go away. Just looking for confirmation.

Hi,

That does sound like the brake-wear sensor. Chances are you're correct and the pads need to be changed.

If you plan to do it yourself, it has to be done differently than a traditional vehicle. Because of the electric parking brake, you need to place the vehicle in service mode which requires a scanner that can communicate with the modules.

I attached directions below for the removal of the brake calipers (which needs to be done to replace the pads). Make sure to first place the vehicle in service mode. When everything is replaced and back together, take it out of service mode.

I did find a method to place it in service mode yourself. It is the first pic below.
