I have a 1997 Dodge Stratus and all the brake pressure is flattening out. Brakes going out. Can I change fluid on my own to keep steady until I have a mechanic bleed and change them properly?

I cant raise the dough to have the local mechanic until payday Friday.
In the meantime. can I extract and add new fluid to get me to and from work? Would it make a difference?

Brake fluid doesn't wear out. It gets dirty. However, rarely does it need changed. So, I don't think that will help. Can you explain what is happening with the brakes so I can direct you?
